Our teaching principles are derived from the book: The Seven Checkpoints - 7 Principles Every Teenager Needs to Know by Andy Stanley and Stuart Hall Authentic Faith - (Proberbs 3:5-6) Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths staight. Spiritual Disciplines - (Romans 12:2) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test that which is his good, pleasing and perfect will. Moral Boundaries - (1 Thessolonians 4:3-8) It is God's will that you should be sanctified; that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brotheror take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instrucion does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit. Healthy Boundaries - (Proverbs 18:24) A man of may companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 16:7) When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him. Wise Choices - (Ephesians 4:23-29) to be make new in the attitude of your minds; and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore each of yo must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. "In your anger do not sin." Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ultimate Authority - (Romans 13:1-2) Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgement on themselves. Others First - (Philippians 2:3-11) Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus. Who, being in the very nature of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death - even death on the cross! Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. |
